Nordic walking was adopted in Poland a few years ago and nothing indicates that it should go out of fashion. And rightly so: this activity invented in Finland is a great way to spend your free time. For those starting their adventure with sport and for the more advanced, youngsters and seniors: it will work perfectly! However, before we start marching along the forest path or city routes - some useful tips.

Nordic walking poles - stability and height adjustment

Poles are an inseparable accessory of marching to the rhythm of walking. In order for outdoor recreation to be a lot of fun, it should be selected properly. The first rule to follow is stability. It is provided by special models, strictly designed for this activity. You can also choose trekking poles. Modern vibration absorption systems ensure that overloading of joints is avoided. It is also important to be able to adjust the height of the poles for Nordic walking. Here you need a simple mathematical equation: multiply your height by 0.66. For example: a person who is 170 cm tall should set the height to 112 cm.

Nordic walking sticks - parameters that are worth paying attention 

The most important thing is behind us, but there are still a few pole parameters to choose from. Sometimes good marching is troubled by sweating hands. Modern handles made of suitable materials, e.g. cork or foam, are helpful here. Velcro gloves ensure a good fit and comfortable walking. Some of the models (thanks to the quick connector) allow you to detach the poles freely without having to remove gloves. Also check that the model you choose is foldable. This solution not only facilitates storage, but also allows you to take poles on a trip and enjoy your favorite sport anywhere! The material from which the sticks were made cannot be overestimated. Aluminum, which is both lightweight and resistant to mechanical damage, works great.
